Chomp is a behavioural design campaign that uses the ByteBox—an interactive, gamified dispenser—to make young adults in college canteens more mindful of their food choices and encourage healthier eating habits.
InTRo
College canteens often reinforce unhealthy eating, with over 70% of Indian urban youth consuming junk food daily (Rathi, Riddell, & Worsley, 2017). While students express interest in healthier options, convenience, peer influence, and a cultural bias that equates Indian food with health drive them towards processed and less nutritious choices. We hope to change that as it aligns with UN's SDG 3.

Problem Statement-
Unhealthy eating habits, driven by convenience and peer influence, are prevalent among college students aged 18-25 in canteens, hindering their adoption of healthier food choices and negatively impacting their long-term health.

What this project taught me-
Learnt how colloquial terms often have multiple meaning
To reach users you will have to speak their language
It's okay for design projects to not work out sometimes
